“Warm staff, beautiful location and an exceptional experience!”
The staff were really friendly, made us feel like family, and were genuinely happy to see us; nothing was too much. The location is absolutely spectacular on an island in the middle of the Zambezi. Although the rooms were tented, which made it cold in winter, they did provide multiple layers and hot water bottles, which was a beautiful touch. The heaters were quite difficult to operate. Even though we appreciated being in the middle of the Zambezi and having running water as a privilege, it was hard to get the shower temperature correct. I would be prepared for communal dining, and it would be nice to have an option to take the evening meal separately.
One of the best places we've ever stayed. Situated on the Zambezi river, a 5 min boat ride from an area of Zambezi National Park, Tsowa is totally unique. The setting is idyllic - listening to hippos, monkeys and birds as the sun rises, seeing elephants drinking from the river across from the island and watching the most beautiful sunsets makes this place very special. The accomodation is lovely - a luxury tent with everything you need, even hot water from the outdoor shower. The staff are incredible - so friendly, welcoming and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. The chef is a star - we had the options of a continental and freshly cooked breakfast in the morning, varied lunch selection and delicious 3 course meals every night, along with a huge selection of drinks. Gary, who is the general manager, is fantastic. He organised a seamless trip to Victoria Falls for us and it was such a highlight of our trip. He also shared some great stories of his time in South Africa and Zimbabwe. We ended our trip with Tsowa and what an end it was. We'd recommend to anyone!
“Une parenthèse enchantée”
Everything was absolutely perfect. The team was very professional, caring, and incredibly friendly. The food was excellent and the tent was very pleasant. A special mention for the mattress, which was extremely comfortable. Everything was arranged so that you feel at home. The kindness of the staff is truly worth noting. I think this is one of the most enjoyable stays I've ever had. I highly recommend it! Thank you to the whole team! There was absolutely nothing negative to report; everything was perfect!
Tsowa is such a magical lodge - from the moment I got picked up to the moment the team dropped me off, I felt totally spoilt and at home. The location of the lodge is totally unique - there is nothing like waking up to the sounds of birds and monkeys and hippos all around you, the water gently bubbling past, or after an afternoon game drive, those twinkling lights in the trees as you cross the river back home. The tents/rooms are absolutely top notch - everything you could want and all the little touches like hot water bottles and heaters in the cooler evenings make you feel super special. The food is absolutely superb, everything was spot on and I have no idea how the chef managed to make such delicious creations on an island ! I loved the activities, the game drives were brilliant (I saw my first leopard after many, many safaris - it was breathtaking) and I can highly recommend the caneoing, there's no better way of seeing the river in all its grandeur. But the thing that makes the whole experience second to none is without a doubt the amazing team. They are extremely professional, friendly, there to accommodate you, and so welcoming. Everyone took the time to chat with each of the guests and you leave feeling like you've made friends. They really do an absolutely superb job and clearly work extremely hard. They are very impressive. I will definitely be visiting again and won't hestitate to recommend to friends and family. I can't imagine anyone not liking anything about this extremely beautiful place !
