I was thrilled to catch over 20 fish in one day and just hang out, but the floor was so bad it felt like it could give way, and a lot of guests who don’t know how to swim made the late‑night shikara ride feel terrifying, especially after the roof had to be replaced because it had been blown off by the wind.

The room was only average, and the food was barely enough for the Rs 400 per person they charged, plus there were frequent electricity issues; the host was helpful, though.
