“Excelengte desconexión en el Alentejo”
We really liked the place just outside Elvas, about three or four kilometres from El Cristo. The building looked like a classic Alentejo finca, the room was great, we loved the owner’s hospitality, and breakfast exceeded our expectations; overall it was an ideal spot for a relaxing few days. There’s a small pool that adds charm and refreshes like a big one. I warn that while it wasn’t an issue for us, some people might need better coverage—there’s just enough to call, and sometimes even that isn’t enough for WhatsApp. For us, it wasn’t a problem and almost gave us a bit of freedom, but you should know because some people get stressed without a phone. In short, we rested as we intended, so I recommend it 100 %. It’s not bad at all; it’s just a personal situation that may not affect others. We have a dog, and walking around the hotel isn’t easy: the road is narrow, there are farms with guard dogs, and if we had gone alone it wouldn’t have been a problem, but it’s worth knowing.
