The rooms were spacious and luxuriously fitted, very quiet, the seaside golf restaurant was excellent, breakfast ran until 11:45 with superb cuisine, the natural surroundings were great, and the location was convenient to Aberdeen and the Cairngorms.
“Very high standards in all aspects.”
Great for golfers and well positioned for heading north, but there were no electric charges or a gym available.
The staff were friendly and the property was good, but some policies didn’t match luxury standards—for example, we asked for a one‑hour late check‑out and were asked to pay an extra fee, which felt odd for a luxury hotel.
“This was a wonderfully restful, relaxing & beautiful place to stay & from which to sight see.”
I loved the whole property, the views, the walking trails, the clay pigeon shooting, the on‑site restaurants, and all the nearby castles and eateries that were within a short drive.
“A most excellent stay”
The setting and approach were fantastic, with a splendid main building and a separate annex, beautifully refurbished stone structures, and a welcoming open log fire in the main hall; breakfasts and dinner were of excellent quality, seating in the restaurant offered a superb view over the gardens and beyond, and besides golf there were very enjoyable walking options.
