“If you like cockroaches and filth, stay here”
We chose this hotel because of its convenient location, indoor pool, and hot breakfast, and we had stayed there before, so we assumed the quality would be the same. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The rooms were in disrepair: carpets were filthy with holes and stains, dust piled on walls near vents, cockroaches swarmed over suitcases and across floors, keys never worked, and one room had an old marijuana odor. The pull‑out beds had yellow sheets still covered in trash from previous guests, and the one we paid extra for as a suite was both filthy and broken. We had booked months ahead for a wedding and a large family group, yet the hotel was full due to a tournament, leaving no room to change accommodations. Even in the less problematic rooms, we had to request towels and toilet paper—basic items that should have been provided. When we tried to resolve these issues at the front desk, we were told only a manager could help, but all managers were unavailable. No refunds were offered. This place was great last time, but the management has clearly neglected maintenance and customer care. There are better options along this road in Fredericksburg, even the budget hotels. The reputation of "Country Inn and Suites" no longer matches the reality here, so don't be fooled.
