I was greeted with a friendly welcome, but the room’s cleanliness was the first issue. The air‑conditioner didn’t work, the outlets were exposed on the wall, and the bed was positioned awkwardly against a slanted wall so I could only get out of bed by leaning. In the bathroom, the shower was unusable because the wall was tilted, preventing a standing shower. I couldn’t lock the door, and the window latch was broken.

I arrived straight into a local Romanian 50‑year‑old birthday celebration, which was a fun experience to say the least. I paid 70 RON for the same dish that the birthday guests received, and after nearly ten days in Romania, it was the most expensive meal I’d had so far, though the food itself was good. Sleeping was difficult because of the party noise, but that was expected. There was no hot water when I went to bathe.

I had a very pleasant experience; the staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. The room was clean and comfortable, and the value for money was excellent.
