The owner was polite and cheerful. The place was filthy everywhere, the tower was old and dirty. Even the towels were directly hung in the bathroom and were wrinkled, seemed already used, left by a previous client.

I stayed. The accommodation fell far below expectations – a type of lodging that shouldn’t appear on Booking. You’d think a room costing 200 lei per night would at least be clean. A fair price would have been no more than 50 lei per night, just to understand the conditions; someone with small children would know to look elsewhere. Arriving very late with little kids, leaving the location wasn’t an option. Besides the dust and stale smell, the bathroom felt like a public restroom.
