“Enttäuscht- Luxus sieht anders aus”
The breakfast was okay, with a large selection of dishes and a cozy atmosphere. For a four‑star hotel and a week‑long stay, the breakfast buffet felt a bit monotonous and lacked variety compared to other hotels. Dinner at the restaurant was good, and the staff were always friendly. The term ‘luxury’ feels misleading for this hotel. We booked a luxury double room for a week, described as 34 m². The room assigned was nowhere near the beautiful photos on the website; it looked much smaller and tighter, with very sparse furniture. The armchairs and curtains were worn or spotted. The furniture arrangement differed from the pictures. The single wardrobe for two people was far too small. The TV was positioned next to the bed. The windows were outdated, and we only received small keys to open them after requesting them. Because of the location on the highway, road noise was clearly audible in the room. There were no welcome touches like a water bottle or a multilingual information booklet, which one would expect from a “luxury” setup. The bathroom had a small tub with massage jets but no modern walk‑in shower one would expect in a luxury setting. Hygiene issues were noted on the massage jets, sink, and toilet. A 2014 photo shows the same room was then listed as a “comfort room,” suggesting the category was simply upgraded to “deluxe.” The entrance area is small, dark, and functional, resembling a pool reception rather than a luxury wellness hotel entrance. It fits a wellness hotel but is jarring for the booked “luxury” standard. A complaint at reception went unresolved, and cleaning remained subpar despite the complaint. The outdoor terrace is nicely laid out but gives a slightly neglected impression. In short, for the price and star rating, it needs an update; even stars fade over time.
