“Hôtel luxe avec politique de prix étonnante”
The hotel was comfortable with very friendly staff, just a 5‑minute walk to Doheny Beach, a beautiful pool, a lovely room with comfortable bedding, and a rooftop offering sea views and on‑site dining (I recommend ordering from an external take‑away instead of using the hotel’s food). The wine list included quality glass wines, including Californian vineyards. Parking cost $45 per night, and only tea was offered in the room (no infusions). The staff were friendly but understaffed, leading to long waits; at night only one person handled the bar and food service, and in the morning only two served breakfast. The food was low quality and expensive for lunches, dinners, and breakfasts: the crab cake was bland and undercooked, and the chia seed parfait claimed to contain fresh mango and pineapple but was actually mango jam with no pineapple. The pool was not very clean, with sand at the bottom, and the rooftop had loud air‑conditioning noise. Walking to Dana Point Harbor was impossible despite its proximity.
