“Enjoyable visit apart from internet issues”
A friendly atmosphere and staff, but there were significant internet problems, including a lack of service. I was told this.

The place sits right next to the town, which is convenient, but the room was a mess—mould on the walls, cobwebs everywhere, and a general lack of care. A ‘spare’ mattress was propped against the wall, and the furniture looked old and tatty. A proper deep clean would really help.

Breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. The location is very quiet, and walking to Brodick is easy, with convenient bus stops to the south. The bedroom door lock felt a bit wobbly, and it would be nice to have an ashtray or cigarette bin near the bench.

There wasn’t much to praise. The reception, lounge, and dining areas need serious refurbishment, and there’s a strange smell right in the reception as soon as you arrive. Parking is very limited, the prefab accommodation and bathroom are very basic, Wi‑Fi is unreliable, and the location is far from Brodick—long uphill walk with no street lights.

Breakfast was great, especially the fruit salad. The host was cheerful and welcoming, and everything you could wish for was available. Wi‑Fi was on, but it didn’t allow Internet access, which is a major drawback for guests who want to check ferry status or book golf, restaurants, etc. The carpeting throughout was very grubby, with dog paw prints in many places, even in our room where a previous guest’s dog had left them.
