I stayed in a secluded, forested spot where Oom Jan was a friendly host who was always ready to help. The private room wasn’t truly private because the door wouldn’t latch properly, so adults couldn’t keep a low profile around the kids. There was no DSTV, the access road turns muddy when it rains, the pool is tiny, and the braai area needs more lighting at night. The beds were uncomfortable and made noise, and they definitely need to be changed.

The rustic setting was a unique and awesome experience; the outdoor fireplace and braai were great. However, the fireplace didn’t warm the whole area and there was no TV for soccer or Netflix. The wine glasses could be improved.

We liked everything! The place was very peaceful, quiet, and comfortable, and it was child‑friendly. Art loved the videos and games, and there was plenty of reading material.
