The room is large, very clean, and peaceful, just a short walk from the city center. The breakfast is simple but available on site. Free parking is included, and the value for money is good—definitely worth booking.

Casa per Ferie Sant’Anna, a boutique guest house in Matera, offers air‑conditioned rooms with private showers and free toiletries, including accessible options. Located just a 5‑minute walk from the city center and adjacent to Tramontano Castle, it provides a shared lounge and chapel. The UNESCO Sassi di Matera lie 350 m away, while Bari Airport is 54 km distant.

The place scores on location and cleanliness. It isn’t a hotel, lacks comfort, and the breakfast is terrible.

The entire center of Matera is within reach.

The location near the old town is great—about a 5‑minute walk and right next to the Castello. I was pleasantly surprised by the small sitting room/study in addition to the bedroom and ensuite, and both spaces had air conditioning. If you’re after a simple, clean place, this is perfect. The only issue was some loud-ish music from across the road one night, but I could close the windows and turn on A/C. There’s also a faint hum, possibly from the general air‑con system, so earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper.

The location and parking are good. The room and breakfast are basic.
