Every morning the table was piled high with sausage, cheese, coffee, Agnes’s homemade tea, butter, fresh milk, yogurt, and jam she made herself. It was a real treat, though there were no negatives to mention.

The family welcomed us warmly and the apartment looked like a traditional farmhouse—spacious, comfy, and with a fully equipped kitchen that even had a dishwasher, so it felt like home. We’re grateful to the Oppeneiger family for their passion and dedication. The downside was the waste sorting: the bins were awkward, there were no bags, and we had to improvise a bag for non‑recyclable trash.
