Renovated from an 18th‑century farm, Langley Hotel La Vieille Ferme sits in the centre of La Salle‑les‑Alpes, offering a furnished terrace, bar, restaurant and free Wi‑Fi in communal areas. Most rooms feature balconies with mountain views, wardrobes, and private bathrooms with baths or showers. Ski lifts lie 600 m away; an ice‑rink is a 10‑minute drive, and Grenoble‑Isère Airport is 2 h 10 min away.

The front‑desk staff were the most attentive we encountered this summer across France, cheerful and full of useful recommendations. The hotel sits in a quiet area, well positioned, and nearby you’ll find a good selection of bars and restaurants. The only drawback was the mattress, which was too soft.

The reception was very friendly, a table was reserved for us in the restaurant, we could park our motorcycles right in front of the bar, the building dates back to 1772 and has been well restored, the bar is nice, the terrace is large, the breakfast is good, and it’s a quiet spot. Unfortunately, the entire shower room swells while we’re showering.

The welcome is warm, friendly and attentive, the room is very pretty and large, and the breakfast is extraordinary: hearty, varied, all fresh, homemade.

The old farm lives up to its name: many staggered stairs without any lighting, uneven heights that are almost impossible for someone over 70. Getting to the farm was more difficult than expected; I gave up the visit and, despite the receptionist’s politeness, received no compensation for the 400‑euro loss.
