“Unhelpful staff”

The rooms were nice and clean, but the overall experience was a huge disappointment—communication broke down, staff were unhelpful, and the room was unbearably noisy. My colleague and I stayed at Moxy for four nights, split into two reservations: one for business and one for the weekend. The day before my first reservation ended, I asked reception if I could keep the same room for the second reservation and have my colleague move into mine. The receptionist said it was fine and that I’d only need to bring my credit card for the new deposit. The next morning, my colleague moved her stuff into my room, we went downstairs—she checked out, I checked in under the new reservation. A different receptionist then told us the arrangement was no longer possible, forcing us to pack again, check out completely, and get a new room. The new room was the same category but on a different floor, and no effort was made to find a practical solution. When we finally got the new room, I asked for one that did not face the street because the street below was full of restaurants and bars and I was worried about noise. The receptionist gave me exactly what I had asked to avoid: a street‑facing room. Later that evening, I asked another staff member if we could change rooms again; she said no rooms were available and suggested I try the next day. My concerns were justified—the room was incredibly loud at night, with music blasting from the bars and restaurants below and people shouting and laughing on the street.

“Nice hotel but has room for improvement”

The hotel had a great location and was a nice place overall, but the rooms were small and felt cramped; I paid a security deposit that I still haven’t received, even though I left the room in excellent condition. Breakfast was overpriced and only offered for one person, even though I booked a room for a family of four and only one breakfast was provided, which was unexpected and annoying given the price. The valet service isn’t part of the hotel as advertised; it’s a separate entity with very rude attendants. The hotel staff were otherwise great, except for the lady who checked me in, who gave my wife an uncomfortable look before even meeting us—she must have been in a bad mood or something.
