Booking here is not just about accommodation; it’s an experience. We loved staying here and it was fantastic. We enjoyed making matcha and cooking on a traditional grill, and we also loved the traditional bath.

Very traditional and stylish with modern and traditional toilet facilities. The host was amazing and cooked us some amazing bread that was ready to eat first thing in the morning.

The private rental lets you relax without worrying about others. The parking is a bit far.

This place is truly special. Everything was amazing—from the welcoming host, the roasted mochi and matcha tea, the steaming hot bath to the ofuro. The host thought of everything: there are English instructions for all parts of the house, tea and coffee are available, and fresh bread is provided in the morning. The location is a little off the beaten path, in a quiet residential neighborhood, but the train is a 2‑minute walk away. It’s not a hotel, so you won’t find fluffy beds, but the house is unique, comfortable, and it was the highlight of our Japan stay. Nothing to complain about!

The place is right next to 修学院駅, making access super easy, and it has everything I wanted; it can host up to 9 people. No complaints.
