Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was average. The jungle trip offered with a “guide” didn’t give enough safety attention. It cost about 70 dollars per person, which is only slightly more than the baggage service. Be careful at all times!

The jungle trek was great! We saw many orangutans and other wildlife. The hotel staff made a nice effort to provide vegan food for my girlfriend. The hotel staff were also super friendly and helpful! The room was a bit too warm; the fan helped a little.

We had an absolute blast spending our honeymoon here. We did the 5‑day jungle trek and our guides Iwan and Bendy were amazing! We learned so much about native plants and animals and even tasted many different plants used in herbal medicine. Iwan and Bendy did an awesome job tailoring our trek to our interests and skill levels. My husband and I had backpacking experience, so they took us on very cool paths that let us truly experience the terrain. All campsites we stayed at were awesome and the food was delicious (thanks Mawan)! Mawan went above and beyond and made our first campsite a “honeymoon version” by putting local flowers like hibiscus around our sleeping mats and our hut. Highly recommend this trip! The villa itself was awesome. We stayed one night before our trek and one night after. The food here is delicious and the cat and dog are the best. Tyson and his team made us feel so welcomed and relaxed both before and after the trek. Tyson helped us get a car from the airport to the villa and a car to the bus station in Medan after our trek. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. Full of plants and color, they really keep it healthy and welcoming. We highly highly recommend Tyson and his team at Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa!

The location was beautiful and peaceful, a little bit out of town so surrounded by greenery. The room was clean and bed very comfortable, and the food from the restaurant was excellent. And the people were wonderful, all so friendly and helpful - they really made us feel at home, as well as helping us organise our trek, airport pick up and onwards transport. Everything was fantastic. Nothing!
