The food at the restaurant and bar was excellent, but the room I stayed in had a freestanding roll‑top bath with a shower house, which I would have preferred to be a shower. Next time I’ll choose a different room.

The rooms were individually designed with a nice blend of period pieces and modern comforts, and the on‑site food was excellent.

The location was good, but the toilet seat was the wrong size and not fitted properly, there was no holder for toilet roll, cobwebs surrounded all the light fixtures, the bath was a nice touch but the cold water tap was broken so I had to fill it with hot water and wait a long time for it to cool, the bed was at a weird angle, and it was expensive for what it offered, especially after the poor experience.

My original room had a bad smell from the drains and with no fuss they happily moved me to another room that was beyond expectations, had a fantastic night away, highly recommend such a beautiful hotel and lovely staff will definitely be returning. so lucky to have a gorgeous place like this on my doorstep
