The setup was really unique, with very quirky accommodation. I stayed in a train compartment inside a train carriage. It was small, but perfect for me as a solo bike‑packing traveller. The location is good, close to the city centre. Breakfast was excellent, the staff were really helpful, and the overall value was great. I didn’t dislike anything—very different and great experience.

The accommodation was very extraordinary! I slept in a sleeping car/railway compartment. It was cozy in a different way, but exciting and affordable. The sanitary facilities were tidy and clean. There was a parking space in front of the door. Breakfast was fine. I booked it for a concert visit, and I especially liked that the music was already playing when I arrived. Nothing negative.

The location and distance to the event venue (Maritim Bad Godesberg) were great. The Tiny Home was super comfortable for me alone and also usable for two people. Everything was clean, and there was air conditioning and heating depending on the weather. A parking spot was also available. The breakfast didn’t match my personal taste, but that’s individual. The baker and Edeka are nearby if you want something else, and the Tiny Home allows you to cook yourself.

I liked the concept, the bathrooms were clean, breakfast was ample and parking was free. I would not book the sleeping car again; the rooms are meant for two people, but even solo I had trouble. It’s far too tight for luggage; the suitcase can’t lie open because there’s no space, and the bed is needed for sitting or sleeping. The door lock feels clunky and the velvet keychains on the room keys look unhygienic. The compartments are also very noisy; earplugs would help. This criticism only concerns the sleeping car. I’d still come back, but this time I’d book a caravan instead. They’re larger and you don’t sleep so cramped, and with little luggage and just for a night it’s doable.

I booked a sleep pod and found it ridiculously cramped, so I’ll never book that again, but the Basecamp itself is clean, stylish, has a great concept, friendly staff, and a good breakfast.
