“War hatten mehr erwartet”
To avoid a wrong impression, the Best Western L’artist is a decent place to stay. You get a clean room, a decent bed and an average breakfast, but the value for money is not appropriate. We travel a lot in France, have stayed at L’artist before, and on this trip we stayed in several hotels of the same category/price range. Compared to a few years ago and to the other hotels, L’artist was noticeably worse. Key issues that disappointed us: the parking spot in the hotel garage, which was relevant for us, was not available. We only learned that it couldn’t be securely reserved after the (non‑cancellable) booking. Despite our early arrival we had to park our fully loaded car, including bicycles, in a public underground garage. Our room seemed dated, the air‑conditioner was very loud, the bathroom was cramped, the external climate units outside the window were also noisy, and our room was right next to the elevator. Breakfast consisted of packaged items with nothing special; that’s not what you expect in a 4‑star hotel. The light‑show advertised on the hotel website was absent. We asked at reception (answer: “great – just walk into the old town”), but nothing was illuminated. It’s probably outdated information from 2025.
