I rented a car and it was easy to park; the convenience store is 3 minutes away, the 10‑minute walk gets you to the Golden Pavilion, 30 minutes to the Blue‑Water Temple.

Ryokan Nenrinbo, nestled amid Kyoto’s mountains, offers tranquil Japanese‑style rooms with tatami, futon, and free WiFi. A spacious onsen bath, a serene garden showcasing seasonal hues, and art displays enhance the experience. Located 10 minutes from Kinkaku‑ji, within walking distance of Koetsuji, Genkoan, and Joshoji temples, and a 30‑minute drive to JR Kyoto Station, it blends heritage and convenience.

The ryokan sits in a quiet spot, the front desk people were super friendly, the room was spacious, and the onsen was fantastic. We had an amazing traditional breakfast and overall it was a great experience—we just wish we could have stayed longer than one night. Everything was amazing.

The spot is ideal for art and nature lovers, with perfect service, and there’s nothing to complain about.

It was very quiet, so I could unwind. There was no lounge‑like spot.

The hair dryer was poor quality. The bathroom in the dining area was old.
