Amazing view, nice room and balcony, staff trying to be helpful. Most of the staff don’t understand English. They sometimes promise beer in 10 minutes but it takes several hours, and they keep saying it’s only 10 more minutes. Beer isn’t in the fridge and needs to be cooled each time. They had a problem with the final invoice, called all day every few minutes to pay the bill, but again didn’t understand English and didn’t provide international banking details.

The owner is very nice and friendly, food is fresh and plentiful, not like the standard Sri Lankan hotel; everything is listed and you can have breakfast in this hotel. There is too little life from the staff, everything looks lost. Some people don’t speak English, which makes it hard to ask for the bill and the waiter brings you a plate. I think customer service should have at least someone who speaks English. The receptionist is kind but lifeless and lost, she tried to calculate our bill twice, and if we hadn’t noticed we would have overcharged us by about 200 euros. The owner is great, the kitchen staff are very nice, but the reception and restaurant service need improvement.

The hotel is beautiful with a great room, good food, very friendly staff eager to help, and stunning balcony views, though it feels a little isolated and the Wi‑Fi can be hit‑and‑miss, which is common in hill country.
