“Disappointing stay, but a couple of positives”

I liked a few aspects: the reception area was pleasant, and the view of the Ganga Ji from the top floor was beautiful. The location and view have great potential and could improve the stay if the property were better maintained. However, my experience in Block B at Madpackers Rishikesh was extremely disappointing and unhygienic. The top floor was poorly maintained, dirty, and overall pathetic. The lift was broken, making it hard to reach upper floors. The AC leaked, adding to the discomfort. The washroom wasn’t cleaned properly, which is especially concerning for hygiene. The mirror in the washroom was placed so badly it was nearly unusable. The property needs urgent attention to cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and basic facilities. For a hostel, these are basic expectations, and my stay fell far short. Management should inspect Block B, especially the top floor, and fix these problems immediately.

One of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had! I loved the upbeat, social vibe at Madpackers. The staff were incredibly helpful and made me feel right at home. Everything was well‑organized, and the property had a great backpacker feel. Highly recommended if you want to meet new people and have a memorable stay!
