We were greeted warmly by owner Frederique, who gave us a quick tour of the rooms and grounds. It turned out we were the only guests, so we essentially had the entire property to ourselves. We even had access to a large fridge, an outdoor bar, a dining table, and the pool was gorgeous with nice lounge chairs and a shaded area. Frederique is very meticulous and always nearby, making sure everything stays perfect and opens the gate for you when you drive up. During our stay we received a lovely, well‑trained herding dog for free. Frederique booked a restaurant for us the first evening, just 7 minutes away, and we went back the next night because it was such a welcoming spot. The highlight was the fantastic breakfast—something I rarely see, everything was spot‑on, homemade, and very extensive. The rooms lacked a fan or AC and were very hot due to a heatwave that had been ongoing for weeks. It’s important to keep the windows closed during the day and open them at night when it cools slightly. Frederique is careful with electricity, so he always checks that you’ve turned off all lights.
