“Loved staying here and would definately book again”
location was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. A little bit of maintenance is needed around the backpackers

I was thrilled with the spot and the price – the lounge and outdoor area were great, and I’d definitely come back. The only hiccup was staying during the rugby teams celebration night, so the timing was off, but everyone else was friendly and respectful.

The Swedish host kept the kitchen spotless and was very hospitable. The downside was the air‑conditioner blasting cold air in the 16‑bed dorm during winter.
Staying at Mount Backpackers was honestly one of the best experiences I could have asked for. It was my first time arriving in New Zealand, and I came with a lot of excitement, but also with many fears and doubts about starting this new chapter of my life. From the moment I arrived, the guys made me feel welcome, comfortable, and at home. Everyone treated me incredibly well. The service was amazing, I had everything I needed, and whenever I had a question or needed help, someone was there for me. More than just a place to stay, Mount Backpackers was a place that helped me feel less afraid and enjoy the beginning of my adventure in New Zealand. I’m really grateful for all the kindness, good vibes, and unforgettable moments. I’ll always remember this place as one of the first places that made me feel at home in New Zealand. Thank you, guys, for making my first days here so special. ❤️🇳🇿
“The sleep, which was the main purpose of my booking was really bad.”
The place is super convenient, close to both the beach and the mountains in Tauranga. I arrived on a Friday and the street was full of clubbing and partying, with no noise cancellation so I couldn’t sleep. The bed was also quite uncomfortable and uneven, which was disappointing for the price.
