The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Brough of Birsay.

We had a truly wonderful stay and felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived. Our host was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive, going out of his way to make our visit as pleasant and unforgettable as possible. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and exactly what we were looking for in Orkney. The peaceful surroundings and lovely atmosphere rounded off our stay perfectly. Thank you for the warm hospitality and all the little touches that made our visit special. We would love to come back anytime and can recommend this place without hesitation! 🌿🏡

We were honestly thrilled with this property! The fact that we stayed for a whole week only added to our delight. The room was large, bright, and featured a walk‑in wardrobe, a comfortable king‑size bed, and a bathroom with a window and a shower that worked wonderfully – something we had to mention after our experiences with other showers during a three‑week trip to Scotland. The setting is quiet, making it ideal for sleep. There’s a parking spot right in front of the house for your car. Virginia, our host, was very nice, friendly, and helpful, and we had great conversations with her. Breakfast was delicious, and she even offered chia seeds and Greek yogurt, which deserves a shoutout. The property is a bit off‑the‑beaten‑path and up in the north of the main island, but the main tourist attractions are easily reachable, and the restaurant “The Skerries” in the Merkister Hotel is highly recommended and just about a 13‑minute drive away. In short, The Viking’s View is, in our opinion, fully recommended for a multi‑day stay on the Orkney Islands.

Very nice BnB with good breakfast and spacious room. I was very happy about the shower which gave lush water. Very comfortable and big bed. Spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the view to the island with a Vikings' settlement. The host gave us good recommendations for dinner, which we followed, and reserved a table in either one: The Ferry Inn in Stromness (lovely staff, very good food) and The Merkister (near Dounby), which was also quite nice, very stylish, and had great views. Thank-you also for the recommendation walk over to the Island at low tide and explore the Pictish stone and the Vikings' settlement at Brough of Birsay. The next day we took a walk on or rather, above the beach - sunny weather, spectacular views, most colorful stone formations. One can see how the Stones of Stenness came about, geologically. Guests who would like to see more of the other Orkney islands but don't habe much time: Take the ferryboat from Stromness, as footpassengers, and do one round trip around the island of Graemsay. You'll se a lot of the coastline, plenty of calm water, and it only takes one hour. Nothing to complain about!
