Dogs were welcome, the beds were good, and breakfast was fine. The décor of the breakfast room was off-putting. The dog bowl in the room had high edges that didn’t suit a small dog. Finding the light switches in the dark was difficult. Spotting a parking spot was hard, and the lobby had no signage.

Everything was okay, but the room’s air‑conditioning was lacking.

Oulu is a cultural capital, and the hotel reflected that. The staff were top quality, and the sauna area was lovely. The only downside was that it was right in the center.

The location, traditional feel, cleanliness, and moderate size were all great, and the breakfast rush was hardly an issue.
