“Sądziliśmy, że będzie lepiej”
The property sits in a very nice area. I’m not sure how the other rooms looked, but ours was (mildly) very minimalist. Mrs. Danusia welcomed us warmly and, with some issues, directed us to the booked room. A plus was the ability to store bicycles in the shed. If the weather had been nice, we could have relaxed on the large area adjacent to the property with loungers, a fire pit, wooden tables, and benches. You could shelter from the blazing sun under the shade of canopies or trees. We didn’t use these facilities because we were exploring the surroundings. The kitchen in “our” house was interesting; it had dishes, a dishwasher, a stove, tables, etc. Everything was there, but it didn’t make a stunning impression.
We found many drawbacks. The parking information was unreliable: it isn’t on the premises but behind a fence by the road. It’s small, and some cars had to park in what seemed to be a general parking area, away from the property. When we arrived, there were problems determining who had booked which room. We managed because I remembered we were supposed to have a room with a bathtub. The room entrance had “almost vertical” stairs, making it impossible for people with lower limb disabilities to navigate. The floor creaked at the most delicate steps, and the bathroom door hinges squeaked terribly. The bathtub faucet didn’t work properly, and the switch from shower to tap was broken. Several times we received a spray of cold water from the shower. The chairs in the room were totally uncomfortable. The wardrobe, supposedly old and atmospheric, was really just a piece of old junk. At the table, you couldn’t sit freely because the chairs weren’t the right height for the table. The entrance to the property “through a gate” was heavily hindered; climbing two high stone steps was a challenge, and bringing a bicycle for my wife was an impossible feat. Regarding the garden elements, they were there, but their condition was “so-so.” We understand the hosts wanted to create a village‑style early‑20th‑century property, but that doesn’t mean the tables and benches were moldy. The general area is nice, but there’s a clear lack of attention to detail… a pity. The first time we were unsure whether to stay or leave after arriving in the evening. I’m not “complaining”; this is my first negative review.
