Ferienpark Heidesee

The location is ideal for the 10th and 11th legs of the Heidschnuckenweg, but the whole campsite feels a bit tragic. The idea of a petting zoo, a lake, a silica sand trail, a football pitch and a swimming pool was good, yet over the years the setup has fallen behind the needs and can no longer be maintained – the petting zoo is “do not enter”, the lake has blue algae, the silica sand signs are unreadable, the football pitch sees no players, and so on. I wish the operators the best.

The spot was convenient and the staff were friendly, but the facilities felt a bit old‑fashioned, the bread service didn’t work, and the restaurant and snack bar were also disappointing; as a hiker with little gear, it wasn’t really ideal.

The location was fine, yet there was mold on the wall and the furnishings were very basic and clearly worn; no response has come yet to the complaint.

The place sits in a very quiet spot and was clean. The décor is a bit old‑fashioned but still okay. The furnishings were very rustic and old, not necessarily bad, yet the bed was awful—hard and uncomfortable, and it creaked loudly with every turn, making the nights unbearable. The playground outside our door had also aged over the years.

Once a beautiful campsite, it’s now fallen into disrepair. The advantage is that it’s very quiet, and even the neglected pool is still calm. If you’re just passing through for a night and don’t need much, it’s fine. If you want a tidy, well‑maintained holiday park, skip it. The cabin was spacious and everything was present. The beds were extremely hard, and there was no outdoor table or chairs (though other cabins had them).
