The hotel kept the original charm of the building without sacrificing comfort, which I appreciated. The only hiccup was the left window in room 4 that wouldn’t close, letting in a bit of morning noise. Overall, a nice stay with a small annoyance.

The place has a great vintage vibe, but the bathroom fixtures were a bit of a mess—water supply issues and a broken toilet seat. The wallpaper looked a bit old, so a renovation would help.

Niels welcomed us warmly and gave a great intro over a welcome drink, plus handy tips for nearby museums and a day trip to Ghent. The rooms are roomy and have a special charm thanks to some historic touches. The location surprised us—there’s a Cartoon Museum close by and the lovely Raveel Museum. We liked the mini‑bar fridge for keeping snacks. Ghent is a quick trip, and Kruisem has almost everything you need.
