The building itself looks beautiful, and the staff tried their best despite our problems. However, the marketing of the property is far from reality. The catalogue in the rooms talks a lot about slow living and luxury, but this is not a luxurious stay. The building is beautiful but not car‑accessible, and you can’t call a Richshaw/Tuktuk via Uber or Ola, so you must walk to the edge of the old town to go anywhere else. Sound insulation is non‑existent, and the nearby restaurant played karaoke until 11 pm every night, which was not great for us traveling with a young daughter who couldn’t sleep. The staff offered to move rooms, but after paying for a suite and being offered a small interior room with no windows, it wasn’t enticing, so we left for elsewhere. When we went to breakfast there was no one to serve, and it took a long time to even get menus, let alone for the food to arrive. The route to the bathroom in the suite was so low and narrow that I had to bend over and walk sideways to get to it. Many windows had no glass panes, a historical feature, so to keep the room cool the air conditioning blasted cold air right into your face in bed. If we were in our 20s and didn’t have a child, it might have some old‑world charm and these issues would matter less, but it should really be marketed as a budget adventure option rather than the luxurious language used by the property. It also seemed like renovation was going on, and we could hear power tools during the day.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Amoraya Udaipur, where the peaceful atmosphere and old‑world charm made us feel like we were in a small slice of Udaipur; the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the rooftop was a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing; the staff were friendly and helpful, welcoming us and ensuring our comfort, which really mattered; the location was convenient for exploring the city while still providing a cozy retreat; overall it was a wonderful experience and we give it a 10/10, and we would happily return next time we visit Udaipur. ❤️

The hospitality was great, with staff who were very attentive and friendly and ready to help whenever I needed something; however, the walking distance is about 15 minutes with luggage because cars are not allowed to pass a certain area, and the path is not straight, which made it difficult.
