It was very easy to find, the check‑in process was smooth, and it sits on a Kumano Kodo route from Kumano to Hongu. The former kindergarten turned space is very spacious and calm.

I enjoyed the ping‑pong table, but the whole facility smelled moldy and dusty, the futon was damp, and mold had grown on the curtains.
I want a proper washbasin; with this kind of setup a kitchen would be preferable.

The room was larger than a typical hotel and, being a whole building, a bit of noise didn’t bother me, but the electric kettle was scorched inside, so I hesitated to use it.
