Staying at De Moda had its positives, but it didn’t quite meet our expectations for the price. The room was spacious and clean, yet the walls had visible streaks and the air conditioner was poorly placed, making the space feel warm and uncomfortable at times. We had mentioned a special occasion beforehand, hoping for a small celebratory gesture, but the staff didn’t acknowledge it or do anything, which felt like a missed opportunity for basic hospitality. Overall, the experience was average given the cost; it’s a decent choice if you only need space and cleanliness, but there’s definitely room to improve value, comfort, and guest experience.

I loved how spacious the room was, the view was great, waking up to the sight of the beach, a big balcony, a spacious bathroom, a comfortable bed, a convertible couch available, a well‑maintained pool, and a quiet environment throughout our stay; the staff were helpful and the manager, Mr. Migara, was efficient, but the room was on the 3rd floor during a weekend when the elevator was under maintenance, and a heads up for future visitors: this hotel was strictly a bed‑and‑breakfast property with no room service, though many food options and a marketplace were easily available via delivery apps.

I’ve been back for a second visit, this time with my family instead of flying solo, and the place still feels like a beautiful, cozy haven with a genuinely kind staff. The breakfast was delicious—thanks to everyone involved. Honestly, there was almost nothing to complain about; everything worked out perfectly.

The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. The pool was perfect for a refreshing dip. I’d definitely book again.

We really enjoyed the large, comfy bed, the fruit offered at breakfast, and the friendly staff. Because the hotel isn’t on a main road, the noise level was low and we slept well. Galle fort was a 20‑minute walk away or just a short Tuk Tuk ride. Nothing to add.
