Chata Koliesko in Demanovska Dolina offers family rooms with private bathrooms, parquet floors, balconies, TV, and wardrobe, overlooking alpine vistas. The on‑site restaurant serves traditional Slovak cuisine in a cozy setting, complemented by a bar. Ski‑to‑door access, terrace, equipment hire, free parking, coffee shop, and ski storage enhance convenience. Jasna ski resort is 12 min walk; Demänovská Ice Cave, 8 km away.

The property sits right in the heart of the Jasná mountain resort, with instant access to slopes, cable cars, and hiking trails, and parking is available at the entrance. The room was clean and tidy, giving a cosy vibe. The on‑site restaurant serves good food; it’s a family‑run business that delivers on its promises. The staff were very nice. Breakfast was decent, though don’t expect a wide fancy buffet—this isn’t that type of place. I stayed two nights and the price was a real bargain. I would have liked some shampoo in the shower, and note that the property isn’t barrier‑free; rooms are on the first floor and only accessible by stairs (not a complaint, just information for those who might need it).

Everything is brilliant—no complaints. The signal is weak, though.

The owner and his wife were helpful and the food tasted very good. The room’s furnishings were old, especially the beds, which I didn’t like. That matched the discounted price of 61% off; at full price the dissatisfaction would have been greater.

The cabin’s location and cleanliness were fine. We stayed at Koliesko for two nights, buying a package that included breakfast and dinner. When we arrived, we were given a room; I’d rather call it an “apartment house” because you only use the assigned room and the restaurant. We were three people—a couple and a 6‑year‑old child—and we paid almost 250 € less than the original 737 € thanks to a Genius discount, which is unbelievable for the level of service offered. We had previously stayed at the Wellness Hotel Chopok in the same group, where a night with wellness and breakfast cost 155 €, and that was incomparable. What we disliked most was the weak breakfasts: one plate of ham salad, one plate of cheese, a mini butter, hot water for tea, a jug of milk, a bowl of plain yogurt, a bowl of jam, chocolate spheres with oats, stale bread from the previous day, and a lot of lettuce—no bread, no sweet pastries, no fruit except sliced melon. You’d expect eggs, sausages, standard breakfast items, and of course coffee, but coffee was not included and only available for an extra 3.50 € per espresso. We hadn’t even met the staff yet, but many guests complained that coffee was unavailable during breakfast. The vegetables were just a small plate of bell peppers and tomatoes that had no color or flavor in the peak summer season. Then dinner: you had no choice and didn’t know what you’d eat. The food arrived as a surprise; one night there was bean soup, garlic soup, chicken goulash with dumplings, roasted chicken with rice and sauce. No drinks were included. The restaurant’s price list was like a 5‑star hotel, which amused us. Facilities: a shared fridge, no fridge in the room, no amenities, not even a towel hook; the outside temperature was 10 °C and the room was cold. When we asked for heating, it turned on after a short delay and was turned off several times.
