We enjoyed a lovely stay at La Désirade, located in a stunning part of the Rhône Valley surrounded by vineyards, making the whole setting incredibly picturesque. The woman who welcomed us was warm, sweet, and made us feel at home. Dinner at the hotel was delicious, and I’d definitely recommend booking if you can; they only take about 30 guests, so it’s worth booking ahead. It’s a charming little hotel in the middle of wine country, and we’d happily return—though we had to miss our return trip to Sweden because they’re closed.

Overall, the hotel, restaurant, and service were good. At the restaurant, they offered a menu rather than just a menu card, and a wider variety would have been nice.

We liked the room with almost a tiny private garden—it was trendy! The bar sold local wine and other items, the pool was nice, and the staff were friendly. One of our favorite stops on the way to Spain. Breakfast isn’t the best but acceptable. The downside is that you can’t check in until 15:00 when the gates open.
