Orchard Valley Glamping

The location was exactly what I wanted—isolated, quiet, and peaceful, perfect for a summer visit. The only issue was the lack of a bathroom heater for winter; it was brutally cold in the frost, making showers nearly impossible without the bath for warmth, and the toilet felt freezing. Still, the isolation, view, and peace outweighed the cold.

Breakfast was amazing, especially the freshly baked bread and tasty eggs. I also liked the thoughtful touches: handwritten labels on milk and juice, a delicious s'mores kit, candles around the cabin, and dried lavender in the bathroom. The furnishings were beautifully styled, creating a warm, comfortable, luxurious vibe, and the bed was incredibly cozy—overall, the stay surpassed my expectations and looked better in person than in the photos. We could hear sirens from Otorohanga, and in the mornings loud Indian music from nearby farm workers was audible; it didn’t bother us personally, but it could be disruptive for some guests. The spa took about 3½ hours to heat up instead of the advertised 2 hours; we were okay with the wait, but updating that info would help future guests plan.

The location was gorgeous and peaceful. The living/bedroom area was comfortable, well designed, and nicely decorated. The only inconvenience of my first glamping experience was the toilet being separate from the main tent, especially at night and during rain.

The location is beautiful, very comfortable and well furnished. Everything needed for breakfast is available, and the ordered apéro platter was wonderful. The hosts were very friendly. It’s a shame we could only stay one night.
