Just off the motorway, the place was quiet, the room was nice, and the reception and staff were excellent; we called in late and the staff still managed to prepare a meal even though the kitchen had just closed.

The cottage was lovely, and the staff were friendly, relaxed, and attentive; our evening meal was delicious and generous in portion, our large dog was welcomed, and the whole experience felt more like visiting friends. Nothing was missing— the owner prepared a home‑cooked full English breakfast, other guests were lovely, there was plenty of covered outdoor seating, and the village itself is picture‑perfect.
