The room was spacious with a good bed and bath. There was no fridge, not enough milk for tea, and only one set of towels.

The location, staff, building, and all its quirky creeks were positive. There was a bit more space needed for the toilet.

I didn’t find anything good. I had no good experience.

The place sits in a great spot for what we were after, and the guy who welcomed us on Friday 9th Oct was friendly and seemed to know everything, so he was the only staff member I saw. Both mornings we had breakfast that was cooked perfectly, so no food complaints. The price was fair for what we got, but I wouldn’t pay more. The beds were comfy and the room had T and C. My toilet had been used before I entered, so I cleaned it myself after a long travel day. Unfortunately, this hotel would never earn a 4‑star rating, but for two nights it was adequate for our needs. The building looks beautiful but feels neglected; the restaurant and bar décor were fine, yet the rooms need some TLC. My brother’s wardrobe leaned to one side, and he couldn’t shower because there was no tap to switch from the shower head to the taps. In my room the cold water tap moved around and wouldn’t turn on, the shower head dribbled, making it take ages to wash my hair, and the carpet was badly stained.

The reception and bar staff were really friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very close to the station, a shopping outlet park, and the town centre. The toiletries were a little basic, and the restaurant didn’t live up to the hype.
