“Noisy, stinky but great location.”
Breakfast was really good, the location was great, and the staff were very kind. As a hospitality professional, I found the price I paid for this accommodation unacceptable, and if I were in charge, I would focus on the following: the Kasbah room is impossible to sleep in; it’s noisier than anything I’ve ever encountered. Motorcycles seem to be inside the room, and a water pump beneath the window keeps running all night, producing a very annoying noise – I’m not a light sleeper, so I had to wear headphones to sleep or even just get ready. The windows lack insulation; open or closed, they don’t help. I stayed for SIX nights and never had a single good night’s sleep. Don’t take this lightly – it’s NOISY! There’s no mirror – why not add a full‑body mirror so guests can check themselves before going out? No full‑body mirror exists elsewhere in the riad. The mattress needs replacing; I had back pain for most of my stay, which I don’t usually experience. Makeup in the bathroom is impossible because the lighting is REALLY bad. The bathroom door is REALLY annoying and impractical. Most of all, the room STINKS! Saying it smells bad would understate how bad it smells – it’s like being inside sewage. I didn’t change accommodations because I had spent so much money and because availability was low in high season, but it was torturing. To the manager: if you address these non‑details, you could make this the best riad in Marrakech, since you already have the great location and nice staff. Until then, I would not recommend this stay to even my worst enemy.
