The space is very pretty and well maintained, and the pool is great, but not having air conditioning made sleeping hard, and the fridge stayed almost 40 °C, so getting a cold drink was a hassle.

This is one of the nicest spots I’ve ever visited; the host was very pleasant, the surroundings stunning, and the value was excellent—highly recommended.

We picked Quinta Das Escomoeiras to experience a working Portuguese vineyard and rural life; the property was gorgeous with lush landscaping, views, and old‑world architecture. Fernando guided us through acres of vines, cherry and other fruit trees, organic gardens, and explained the river’s role at the base of the hills. We sampled wines on the patio overlooking gardens, a pool, and the vineyard, and Fernando shared the history of the Quinta and its name. We felt like family guests, but we left abruptly.
