The breakfast was only average, and we would have liked more variety. The hotel’s interior needs an upgrade.

Breakfast was excellent—one of the best I've had at any hotel or motel. Bacon was crisp, eggs tasty, finger sausages superb, everything arranged neatly and easily reachable, and all items were served at the correct temperature. I couldn't find anything to dislike; service was outstanding, the room was comfortable and clean, and the location was fine.

The location was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. However, the room required some TLC: upon entry I immediately noticed a “wet carpet” odor, the carpet stayed damp near the window, and several spots were unfrayed and needed repair; a deep cleaning would help.

The location was convenient, just a few minutes' walk to shops and restaurants, and the bed was good. The room smelled old, was worn, and had a very noisy fridge and AC unit; the elevator was worn and patched up. Ashtrays and cigarette butts littered the terrace, giving it a strong smoke smell.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good with a tasty main dish each day, always including scrambled eggs and a protein, plus bagels, English muffins, a waffle maker, etc. The area was quiet aside from the train, and it was convenient for shopping, restaurants, and Johnson Park with its nice walking path; pets were allowed. The property itself was in disrepair, with many dents and scratches on the walls, wobbly luggage carts, gutters falling off near parked cars, a water stain on the ceiling in our room, outlets that didn’t work, blown lightbulbs, and questionable stains on lampshades—overall it clearly needed a long overdue update and some TLC.
