The only room that had a shōe gave me the impression of stepping straight into the Edo period, but the rest of the property felt heavily modernized.

From 2026/10/03 to 2026/10/05 I stayed in a house that was very spacious for four adults, even though there were rooms I never used; the facilities were comprehensive enough for a full lifestyle, each one was cleaned and kept clean, and because it was a single house the privacy was fully protected, letting me lose track of time. However, it might be better to check in while it’s still bright; the location is far out in the mountains and a single wrong turn on the road can make the journey very harsh. At night, deer, weasels and other wildlife cross the road, so first‑timers should be cautious. Also, it would help if the refrigerator contents were all discarded beforehand; while having seasonings prepared is useful, I couldn’t use them because I didn’t know who had used them or how long they had been there, and the upkeep was poor. There was also something that looked like meat left in the freezer, which was somewhat unpleasant. Lastly, the parking location was written on the key box, but honestly I didn’t notice it, so that part was confusing.

The historic mansion offered a wonderful experience, and we felt the care taken with the items. The coffee and tea inside were tasty, and the cost‑performance was excellent. The bathroom’s sewage got clogged with grime, and the air‑conditioner filter was filthy; we cleaned it ourselves. Improving those areas would make it even better.

We arrived late at night and couldn’t find the parking, but the staff kindly directed us. They also turned on the lights when we got there, which was appreciated. The retro vibe, record listening, coffee, and tea were all nice touches. Thank you for everything. The toilet floor had dust, and there were spider webs in the kitchen; the house looked well‑maintained overall, but those details were a bit off-putting.
