The balcony view was stunning, and the service was very good. Grainau is a great base for hikes, the bus stop is right outside the door, and it takes 10 minutes to walk to the Eibseebahn.

I stayed at this cozy small‑town hotel and the owner was super warm and welcoming, while the breakfast—especially the special bread selection—was exceptional. The spot is ideal for a morning walk to Lake Eibsee, and the nearby restaurants serve great food, so I’d definitely come back. The vending machine in front of the hotel broke down and ate my money, though.

I had a wonderful stay; the owners were incredibly kind and helpful, replying to my emails within minutes whenever I had a question and always ready to assist. My room was clean, comfortable, and the perfect size, with a beautiful mountain view. Breakfast was great and generous, with fresh bread delivered in the morning and the option to request a specific type beforehand; coffee and tea were also provided. I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this place, especially for solo travelers looking for a comfortable alternative when hostels are fully booked.

Breakfast was excellent, but the beverage dispenser outside the door stopped working once.
