The spot is perfect for getting to UCB every day, and the area, while a bit sketchy like any downtown zone, has tons of shops, restaurants, bars, a pharmacy and easy bus or Uber access. The room itself was on a high floor with a clear view, a huge comfy bed, AC, Netflix, pool and gym, plus a mini‑fridge and hair dryer.

The flat feels like it needs a facelift – the curtains are riddled with holes and never make the room fully dark. They only gave a thin single sheet and a flimsy blanket, which wasn’t enough for a comfortable night.

The front desk staff were friendly enough, but the room itself left a lot to be desired. The bed was hard, the only kitchen appliance was a microwave perched on the table, and there wasn’t even a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. The listing didn’t mention the neighborhood, which turned out to be a rough area with an abandoned building full of homeless people right across the street.

Location was the highlight – everything I needed was within walking distance. The downside was the cramped size of the room.

The room looked just like the pictures, the receptionists were courteous, and the large Smart TV was a nice touch. However, the extra items from the front desk and even the pillow felt overpriced. Overall decent, but the cost of the little extras was a bit much.
