The property looked beautiful, the bed was comfy and clean, and the white towels were nicely changed; from the outside it looked quite grand but you had to ring to get someone to give you the key to our room. Doreen came and handed our key and she was a pleasant lady, though it would have been nice to be greeted at reception. Our room was the Duchess, it needed some TLC and was quite dusty. A small table would have helped for tea/coffee since the kettle’s wire was short and didn’t reach the plug sockets. The bathroom needed a bath mat, and the bath was hard to get in and out of. The toilet was wobbly and the grounds were quite unkempt. When checking out I had to ring; Yvonne came out, said thank you, and that was it.

The room was very nice, though it could use a little more light around the mirror area for makeup time; there was a little paint and dust, a few cobwebs before guests arrived, but overall it was very good.

The place is lovely and sits just 5 min from town, with a nice pub up the road. The host is fantastic and the breakfast is great. The room is big, the bathroom is huge, and there’s a jacuzzi bath – what more could you want? I’ll definitely come back. Nothing negative, we had a fab stay thank you.
