“A nice, quiet stay in a three-star hotel with plenty of character.”
Everything matched the description, so I didn't feel it was overpriced without the discount. The only downside was that breakfast only offered sweet cakes—no salty options.

The hotel sits in a perfect spot for anyone who loves nature, culture and the character of Cervia. Its concept, called Il Ficocle after the old name of the town and reminiscent of a Spanish Parador, mixes elements that echo the place’s origins; the quirky owner fell for Cervia, collected relics and antiques that are hidden around the property like a treasure hunt, mixed with other pieces reflecting his idiosyncratic, sometimes hoarding, but engaging taste. Housed in a historic archbishop’s palace that was once a prison and set among the salt pans, it was created as a life’s project by a former chef turned antiquarian, offering a slice of history and memory while still providing comfort, attentive service and a cheerful welcome. The only drawback was the triton fountain, which didn’t have water flowing – it should at least run six months a year.
The building is beautiful and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
