The owner was extremely friendly and a nice chap, providing us all the information and details we could need. He even give us ride to the city center in the evenings, and had some breakfast supplies for us. Beyond expectations! Apartment was spacious, with a nice traditional decor. Everything was clean and everything worked well, and aircon worked very well so it was cool inside. The parking was very tight, and a normal mid-size car is your car's size limit here. But plus is that free parking is available :) The listing here does not clearly say that the host also lives in the same premises on the second floor, and you both share the same hallway and entrance, and when you walk from your livingroom / bedroom to our own toilet/shower, you will need to cross the public hallway (which has a security camera), so this is not a 100% private place to stay. Hence my rating 9.0/10

The owner was very kind! It would have taken about 30 minutes on foot to reach the local izakaya street, so I was planning to take a taxi, but he offered to drive me there, which was a huge help. The building’s joists, decorative shoji, tiles, and original features were already beautiful, and the furniture and folk art pieces that matched them were also thoughtfully chosen and lovely.

“Splendid authentic Japanese villa !”

We stayed at 10 different places during our family trip in Shikoku, and this one was clearly the best! A splendid traditional house, a generous host who arranged the finest kaiseki and shared invaluable local tourism tips.
