We stayed in 517 – bedroom on an upper level which is great, heaps of room in the lounge, and you can see the Panmure Basin, great for a walk.

The restaurant stayed open most of the day and had a decent menu, including a self‑service buffet, and it was close enough to Sylvia Park Mall to walk to. The rooms were tidy, the garden looked lovely and was well kept, and the reception and common areas were clean, spacious and nicely presented. However, the room felt dated, with old furniture and beds on wheels that shifted easily, making it uncomfortable. Air conditioning was only in the separate living room, so the bedroom stayed chilly at night and wouldn’t have worked in a harsh winter. My biggest let‑downs were that, even though I had requested a cot for my 7‑month‑old baby in advance, it wasn’t supplied, and my late‑checkout request was ignored. I was willing to pay a reasonable extra fee, but I was shocked when I was told I’d have to pay for an entire extra night just to stay a few extra hours, especially since there was no comfortable place for my baby to sleep before our flight. After some back‑and‑forth, a staff member talked to the manager and let us stay until 3:30 pm at no extra cost. I appreciated his help, but the whole situation was very stressful. Knowing about these issues beforehand would have made me choose a different hotel.
