The room was big, with a balcony and a nice view, and the bed and mattress were good. The staff were welcoming and even carried my suitcase up. The nearby bus connections were convenient, the air felt fresh, and the desk was large. I enjoyed the music selection during dinner in the dining room. However, the oversized toilet paper dispenser mounted on the side of the bathroom made it hard for me—my long legs were cramped. The breakfast service was irritating: even though breakfast officially lasted until 10:00, the staff only let me eat leftovers, and on the second morning I got unsweetened yogurt leftovers for the cereal, something I’d have liked from the first morning. I also found the loud placement of cleaned dishes into the guest room cabinets and the noisy clearing of tables very annoying. The TV was mounted too high on the wall, and all the outlets near the bed were occupied.

“Nicht zu empfehlen!”

We were looking forward to a relaxing stay but were completely disappointed. The price-to-value ratio was unacceptable; we paid far too much for what was offered. The rooms looked neglected, with old, worn furniture and no thoughtful touches—just the bare essentials. It was clear no one had considered the guests. We were especially outraged by the blatant price gouging: even the free refill of water bottles from the tap was denied, forcing us to buy expensive bottled water. This was outrageous and showed how guests are treated. Minor annoyances piled up: a door handle broke during our stay, and the shower head was so calcified that a normal shower was nearly impossible. These details alone might be tolerable, but together they paint a picture of severe neglect in maintenance. In short, for this price we expect far more care, service, and upkeep. We cannot recommend this place and will not return.

“Wanderkomfort am Heidschnuckenweg”

We hiked along the Heidschnuckenweg and appreciated the good infrastructure. After a long day, a comfortable bed and a warm shower were a relief, so I was fully satisfied. The bed was super comfortable, and the overall vibe was charming. In the evenings I could sit outside on the terrace. About 100 m away was a snack and drink vending machine (I didn’t try it, but I saw the sign). Pizza delivery for other guests arrived twice; perhaps they could also provide cutlery? A bus stop for the Heideshuttle and city bus lines was directly opposite. The garden was lovingly designed and the whole place looked clean and well-maintained. Of course, the accommodations along the Heidschnuckenweg are pricey compared to city hotels, but with friendly company I had a wonderful stay.
