I was happy with the central city location and the nearby Accueil restaurant, and the staff greeted me warmly and offered solid advice, plus the breakfast quality was good. The room was a bit demanding, though.

The Hôtel Victor Hugo Lorient is centrally located in Lorient, on Brittany's south coast. En-suite rooms feature flat-screen satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. A daily continental breakfast is served. The hotel offers 24-hour reception and express check-in. It's a 2-minute walk from the town centre, Port de Plaisance, and 800 metres from the train station with connections to Quimper and Carnac.

There were only a few private parking spots and they were very narrow.

The hotel is close to the port, very clean and stylish. The tiny room was well equipped, tidy and modern. Breakfast was simple but high quality, featuring good local products. The staff were very friendly. Overall, a great hotel for its class. I had no issues with a small suitcase, but there is no elevator. The Wi‑Fi works on my phone but not for VPN, which isn’t a big deal.

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The room was cozy, comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly, and the hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere. However, one thing that really disappointed us was the lack of access to bottled water after 10 PM, when the reception closes. Considering that the nearest convenience stores are several kilometres away, I believe the hotel should provide a way for guests to purchase drinking water at any time. Although tap water was available in the bathroom, not everyone feels comfortable drinking directly from a bathroom sink, and guests should ideally have another option. Installing a simple water dispenser or a vending machine with bottled water, snacks and other essentials would make a significant difference. Water is a basic necessity, and I believe this is something the hotel should take into consideration, especially given its location. Other than that, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and appreciated the welcoming environment

The proximity to the port for going to Groix, just a 5‑minute walk.
